Kate Moss was born on January 16, 1974, in Croydon, Surrey, England. Kate attended Ridgeway Primary School, then Riddlesdown High School but she was not noted for her academic success.

Her parents divorced when she was 15 and she has one brother, Nick, who also models. Kate's started in the fashion industry in 1988, when she and her family were in JFK airport on their ay back from a vacation in the Bahamas

Kate Moss was discovered at the age of 14 by Sarah Doukas (the founder of Storm Model Agency) in 1988, at JFK Airport in New York City. Kate Moss then went on to become the anti-supermodel of the 90's.

Her first modeling job was a topless appearance on the cover of the British magazine The Face. Kate is presently signed with three different modeling agencies Women, in New York; Marilyn in Milan; and the Storm agency in London.

Kate Moss has appeared in several notable documentaries about the fashion world and in 1995, released a hard-back book of pictures entitled simply ''Kate''. In London she is still represented by Storm.

On September 29, 2002, Kate Moss gave birth to her daughter Lila Grace with her then-partner Jefferson Hack at the St. John and Elizabeth Hospital in West London. After leaving, Jefferson Hack, Kate Moss returned to live with a boy from her youth, city-slicker Mark Guerriero.

In September 2005, after she was filmed while allegedly cutting and inhaling cocaine, several of her sponsors disassociated themselves. However, led by Virgin, work has rapidly returned.
